For major cities and popular tourist destinations, Fodors web site provides information on where to go, stay, eat, see and do, and what people say. The best feature is a miniguide where by you can customize your own guide, for example what price range for a hotel or restaurant.

Frommer’s destination pages provide general information on places to eat and stay along with other tourist information for major cities around the world with the exception of South America.

Lonely Planet
Its destination site provides good background information on countries worldwide plus lots of travelers’ tips.

Newspapers can be a good source of news and events at your destination. This site can be very slow at times.
